Do you want to live forever? The immersive installation Black Box takes as its starting point the question that the characters of Stef Smith's Girl in the Machine are subjected to. If it were possible for the soul to be uploaded into a database allowing people to live forever outside the confines of the body, perhaps the fear of death would disappear. The work addresses the intersection of the human body and technology by seeking aesthetic similarities through overlap and juxtaposition creating a dialogue between the two sides. The immersive nature is given by the need for the physical presence of at least two participants on either side of a video projection medium on which video material from two sides is transmitted.
