The period when people were forced to interact through video calls led to an oversaturation in viewing one's own filmed image as well as that of others. Gazing (in)through aims to revisit this type of human connection by recontextualizing its elements. Unlike a video call situation, the participants are in the same room, eliminating the negative feelings accumulated due to physical distance. Experiencing the installation becomes a simulation—a connection exercise based on observing one’s own image and then that of the partner. This type of observation deserves awareness, as it is often absent in everyday situations where people have a practical reason for looking at themselves or others.
